Following a highly successful inaugural event in 2024, the Youth in Oil and Gas Summit proudly announces its 2nd edition scheduled for July 25-26, 2025, at the Walvis Bay Town Hall in Walvis Bay, Namibia.
Embracing the compelling theme “Drilling into the Future: Empowering Youth in Namibia’s Oil & Gas Revolution,” this Summit is poised to further cement its status as Namibia’s premier youth-focused event within the energy industry. In a major boost highlighting its prominence and credibility, the Summit has received a noteworthy endorsement from the African Energy Chamber (AEC).
NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of AEC, stated, “The African Energy Chamber proudly supports this initiative, as the Youth in Oil and Gas Summit plays a crucial role in shaping the future of Africa’s energy landscape. It’s an essential platform for nurturing the next generation of energy professionals and leaders.”
The endorsement by the African Energy Chamber significantly underscores the Summit’s credibility and relevance as a critical bridge between youth and the oil and gas sector. As Namibia continues to establish itself as a vital hub for energy development, this endorsement reaffirms the Summit’s pivotal position as Africa’s leading platform for youth inclusion, professional growth, and networking within the industry. Founded by young Namibian leader Justina Erastus, the Youth in Oil and Gas Summit emerged from a vision to democratize knowledge, open doors to career opportunities, and inspire innovation among Africa’s youth in the rapidly evolving oil and gas industry. “The goal is to ensure that young people are not only participants but active leaders and innovators in Namibia’s energy revolution,” Erastus affirmed.
This year’s event promises a captivating agenda featuring keynote addresses from prominent global industry leaders, strategic panel discussions on innovation, sustainable development, and the vital role youth can play in the energy transition. Attendees will benefit from intensive workshops, masterclasses, and high-value networking opportunities designed to equip them with essential industry insights and connections.
Building upon the successful engagements of 2024, where over 600 young professionals interacted directly with industry veterans and leaders, the 2025 Summit is expected to attract an even larger, diverse audience, including students, entrepreneurs, industry experts, and policymakers. The Summit aims to bridge the persistent gap between youth and the oil and gas industry through interactive dialogues, mentorship, and skill-development programs. With the African Energy Chamber’s endorsement, the Summit is strategically positioned to elevate its status as Africa’s premier youth platform in the energy sector, fostering meaningful dialogue, actionable strategies, and impactful youth inclusion across the continent.
