Bank Windhoek has been named the #1 Most Admired Namibian Banking Brand in the 2025 edition of Brand Africa 100 | Africa’s Best Brands, the continent’s most comprehensive independent brand survey. The announcement was made during an awards ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel in Windhoek, hosted by Paragon Group.
The Brand Africa rankings are based on an extensive survey across 31 African countries, representing more than 85% of the continent’s population and GDP. “This recognition is a moment of national pride,” said James Chapman Managing Director of Bank Windhoek. “Over the past 43 years, Bank Windhoek has been an integral part of Namibia’s history, deeply rooted in its culture and heritage. This award is a tribute to the people who serve with integrity and excellence every single day.”
Bank Windhoek’s consistent commitment to delivering customer-focused solutions and building trust within communities has helped cement its place as a brand that truly belongs to Namibians. The Bank also recognised the pivotal role played by its Marketing and Corporate Affairs team in continuously building a brand that resonates locally and connects deeply with the people it serves.
“This accolade belongs to every employee from those interacting with customers to those working tirelessly behind the scenes,” added James Chapman. “It confirms that when we work together with purpose, we create something meaningful, much-loved Namibian brand that inspires confidence and possibility.” Brand Africa’s 15th edition also recognises brands across G20 and BRICS countries, as well as those contributing positively to society. Led independently on behalf of Brand Africa by GeoPoll and Kantar, two of the world’s most respected research firms, the survey is supported by regional partners, with strategic analysis by Kantar and Brand Leadership. The 2025 edition elicited over 150,000 brand mentions and 5,930 unique brand mentions, weighted to produce a representative Top 100 ranking.
