Discover Airlines flies to Windhoek

Discover Airlines launched its second long-haul route from Munich on April 1. The airline is now servicing Windhoek in Namibia, following the launch of Orlando/Florida in March.

The Lufthansa Group’s leisure airline is thus expanding the Munich route network to Africa and developing its new long-haul base at Munich Airport.

For many travellers, the capital of Namibia is the first destination on a trip to southwest Africa. The metropolis is the center of culture, politics and business in the country and offers a good tourist infrastructure.

It is thus easy to visit both the sights of the city and the surrounding area, such as the Etosha National Park or the Namib Desert.

These breathtaking landscapes in particular make Namibia a popular travel destination. The long-standing and close Namibian-German relations are particularly evident in the regular exchange on the topics of energy transition, nature conservation and the promotion of education.

Discover Airlines operates to Windhoek three times a week – in April on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and from May on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The country’s largest city is the second of three intercontinental destinations that Discover Airlines offers from its Munich hub. Calgary in Canada will be the third destination from mid-April. ARGS
