Namibia Business Hall of Fame to celebrate 20 years milestone

The Namibia Business Hall of Fame (NBHF) is set to celebrate and honour exemplary Namibian business leaders by an induction into the prestigious hall of fame.

This year, the organization celebrates 20 years of existence since its inception in 2004 by founders; Johanna Cloete, current Chairperson of Global Entrepreneur Network (GEN) Namibia, Ronel de Beer, and Tarah Shaanika.

The very first induction ceremony honoured formidable business giants in Namibia such as Laureate Dr. Oupa Frans Indongo, and both late Laureate Werner List, Laureate Harold Pupkewitz. Laureate Dr. Leake Hangala who was also inducted together with these formidable industry giants who have paved the way for many other extraordinary business leaders’ inductions.

The nominations are now open for this year’s award ceremony which will be an evening of inspiration aimed at highlighting the remarkable accomplishments and resilience of Namibian entrepreneurs and business leaders.

NBHF honorees are individuals who have not only achieved personal success in their respective industries but have positively impacted their communities and Namibia’s economy making them the real agents of change in Namibia.

The induction ceremony will take place on 22 November 2024, during the annual Global Entrepreneur Week (GEW) program 18-24 November 2024. GEW is an initiative by GEN Global aimed at celebrating entrepreneurship across the globe.

“The Namibian Business Hall of Fame continues to be a hallmark event in the business community, bringing together top executives, entrepreneurs, and visionaries to celebrate achievements and inspire future generations. The event will feature a gala dinner and the presentation of accolades to the deserving inductees. The ecosystem can look forward to an evening of celebration, networking, and inspiration. The public is hereby invited to take part by nominating a deserving entrepreneur or businessman/woman who meets the required criteria under the categories listed below. Nomination Categories & Criteria:

Emerging Entrepreneurs: Startups and MSME – Individual’s with a positive impact in their communities. Innovation driven to adapt to the digital age.

Laureates: The industry leaders and entrepreneurs and professionals who extensively contribute to the Namibia’s economic transformation.

Honorary Laureates: Influential entrepreneurs and professionals who live as change-makers in their societies whether educational, health-wise, humanitarian, etc.

Criteria for nomination:

  • Displayed ingenuity to the broader public.
  • Made an extensive contribution to the Namibian economy.
  • Community minded.
  • Achieved business excellence by establishing businesses and contributing to employment creation where others would waiver.
  • Upheld the intrinsic values of entrepreneurship, and leadership.
