NASRIA invests over N$450,000 in nationwide community upliftment and brave warriors campaign

In a significant demonstration of corporate citizenship, the Namibia Special Risks Insurance Association (NASRIA Ltd) has handed over donations totalling N$455,000 to a diverse group of schools and community organisations across the country, while also pledging a major sponsorship to the national football team.

The handover ceremony, presided over by NASRIA’s Executive for Marketing and Sales, Ndapona Schleberger, brought together school principals, community leaders, and stakeholders in Windhoek to formalise the company’s strategic social investment. In her address, Schleberger emphasised that NASRIA’s vision extends beyond its role as Namibia’s sole dedicated provider of Special Risks Insurance. She stated that the company’s Corporate Social Investment philosophy is driven by a belief in education as the bedrock of national aspiration, the unifying power of sport, and the vital importance of sustainable community development.

The in-kind donations, valued at N$355,000, were carefully directed to nine entities driving tangible change in their respective regions.

The Eben-Ezer Soup Kitchen in the Khomas Region received essential kitchen utensils, tables, and chairs to enhance its capacity to serve vulnerable community members. In a move to bridge the digital divide, Ombwana Combined School in the Omusati Region was equipped with new ICT equipment.Focusing on safety and security, Okapembambu Primary School in the Kunene Region was supplied with fencing materials to create a safer learning environment. Also in the Kunene Region, the I.K. Tjimuhiva Combined School received a photocopier machine to streamline administrative tasks and improve the distribution of educational materials.

Empowering sustainable food production, the Okakarara Community Garden, run by New Horizon Marketing in the Otjozondjupa Region, benefited from the installation of a new irrigation system and a provision of seeds. Essential stationery was donated to Mazoba Junior Primary School in the Zambezi Region to remove a basic barrier to daily learning activities.

The Namibia Development Foundation (NAMDEF) received support for its programme empowering deaf adolescent young girls through skills training for financial independence and social integration. Furthermore, Otjituuo Primary School in the Otjozondjupa Region was provided with mattresses and dining tables to directly improve the welfare and living conditions of its learners.

Alongside these community-focused donations, NASRIA announced a dedicated sponsorship of N$100,000 for the Brave Warriors’ 2026 World Cup campaign. Schleberger described this investment as a “tangible expression of national pride” that will inspire the nation’s youth and support the athletes as they prepare to represent Namibia on the world stage.

Schleberger clarified that these contributions represent far more than their monetary value. For the schools, they symbolise a shared commitment to educational excellence and conducive learning environments. For the community organisations, they represent a dedication to inclusivity and social upliftment, ensuring no Namibian is left behind.

The Executive expressed NASRIA’s profound gratitude to the management and staff of the recipient organisations, whose tireless work on the front lines of community development was described as “truly inspiring.”

As the donations were formally handed over, Schleberger called on all present to reaffirm a shared responsibility for the nation’s progress. She concluded that through such concerted action and strategic partnership, we collectively invest in building a more resilient, inclusive, and prosperous Namibia for generations to come.
