Last week, the MSC Washington Container Ship made its maiden voyage call to the Port of Walvis Bay.
This impressive vessel measures 335 meters in length. As it arrived at the port, it prepared to discharge a total of 1,392 containers, while also loading 397 containers, resulting in a total of 1,789 moves to be conducted on the vessel while it remained anchored at the Port of Walvis Bay. Built in 2022, the MSC Washington has a gross tonnage of 138,121 tons. It currently operates under the flag of Liberia.
“The MSC Washington arrived at the Port of Walvis Bay from the Port of Pointe-Noire in the Republic of the Congo. After its visit to Walvis Bay, it is scheduled to set sail to its next port of call, which is Port Louis in Mauritius,” Namport said in a statement.
