Halliburton opens new facilities in Namibia

…facilities expected to employ 200 Namibians

Halliburton has announced that it is opening new facilities in Namibia, highlighting the importance of the country’s growing oil and gas industry. The facilities, which will support the company’s in-country operations, are located in Windhoek, Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, and Lüderitz.

With a combined footprint of 20,000 m², the facilities create a strong presence in the region. The Windhoek office will handle support services, while the Walvis Bay facility will focus on Cementing & Drilling Fluids services and warehousing. Swakopmund will house Sperry Drilling, Well Completions, Testing & Subsea, and Wireline & Perforating services. Lüderitz will support Cementing and Wireline operations. Through these locations, Halliburton will deliver advanced technologies that include oilfield automation and remote operations, geosteering, measurement while drilling, and well testing to Namibia’s energy sector.

“These new facilities allow us to operate close to our customers, collaborate in real time, and deliver the advanced technologies and services that maximise asset value. We are proud to support Namibia’s oil and gas industry, contribute to the economic success of the country, and create opportunities for local people,” said Antoine Berel, Vice President, Halliburton Sub-Saharan Africa (South).

Halliburton remains focused on job creation and compliance with local sourcing guidelines. The new facilities are expected to employ up to 200 Namibians. This will help to foster local expertise in oil and gas technologies and contribute to the country’s economy. Halliburton’s long-term strategy aims to support Namibia’s economic development and its emerging energy sector with innovative solutions for exploration and production.
