RA increases domestic road transportation and cross border transportation permits fees

…First increase since 1998 and 1977 respectively

The Roads Authority of Namibia (RA) has announced an increase in Domestic Road Transportation and Cross Border Transportation permits application and issuing fees respectively. This increment will come into effect on Monday, 18 July 2022.

The Cross-Border and Domestic Road Transportation Permit fees have not been subjected to any increase since 1998 and 1977 respectively. The Ministry of Works and Transport determines the Cross Border Road Transportation fees in terms of the Road Traffic and Transport Act, 1999 as well as the Domestic Road Transportation Permit Fees in terms of the Road Transportation Act, 1977.

In terms of application fees, a new application will cost N$200.00; replacement of vehicle, N$200.00; transfer of public/private permit, N$200.00; amendment of public /private permit, N$200.00; additional authority to public/private permit, N$200.00; temporary permit, N$150.00 and duplicate, N$150.00.

In view of permit issuing fees, a new public/private permit will cost N$250.00; replacement of vehicle, N$150.00; transfer of public/private permit, N$150.00; temporary permit (foreign registered vehicles), N$100.00 per day; temporary permit (local registered vehicles), N$25.00 per day and duplicate permit, N$150.00.

Cross border road carrier permit fees will be increased in that a new application permit will now cost N$350.00; duplicate permit issue, N$250.00; renewal permit issue, N$250.00 and N$250.00 will be for three months only.

Lastly, permits for goods will be N$500.00 for 6 months, N$750.00 for 9 months and N$1000.00 for one year.
