FNB Namibia sponsors N$200 000 to the Steps2Walk outreach project

FNB Namibia, through the FirstRand Namibia Foundation Trust has sponsored N$200 000 towards the Steps2Walk Outreach Project.

This is the third year FNB has shown their commitment to the project, which will have doctors perform surgical care of disabling foot and ankle deformities, while simultaneously educating orthopedic surgeons in various treatment alternatives.

At the handover, Revonia Job, FirstRand Namibia’s Group Corporate Social Investment Manager stated that, “the Steps2Walk project truly is a life changing initiative for so many, and we have seen the difference it has made during our involvement over the previous 2 years. The gift of walking is something that many sadly take for granted, until we no longer have that ability.”

She continued, “the education and training that this program provides to our medical community is important in growing the skills within our direct community, allowing our talented doctors access to new skills and training, to continue making a life changing impact.”

The project, running from 10 June 2024 to 14 June 2024, is aimed at responding to the need for education and training of international foot and ankle surgeons who had little access to ongoing and advanced training in the specialty.

FNB Namibia thanks the doctors, sponsors, and all involved in making this initiative a continued success. And wishes all the doctors and healthcare professionals another successful week, as the bring the gift of walking back to 21 nominated individuals.
