Speaking to business community and regional leaders at the recently held Eenhana Trade Expo fundraising gala dinner, guest speaker, Tim Ekandjo, echoed the importance of leading with humility in pursuit of greatness – expressing that “no country, community, congregation, political party, family, or Expo can ever succeed without humility and unity of purpose.”
“Humility breeds great servantship. And I chose to speak of it today because as leaders and aspiring leaders we have an opportunity to change someone’s life every single day. Leadership is not about tearing people down; it is about helping people to become the best versions of themselves. Humility is the first step in admitting that we do not know everything, and we are open to learning while accepting others. It is about letting go of your pride and retaining your dignity.”
At the event, Ekandjo also announced MTC’s pledge of N$70 000, making MTC the main sponsor of the Expo. In addition, Ekandjo, in his personal capacity, also pledged a sum of N$50 000, further demonstrating firm support for the expo.
Themed “Advancing Innovation & Diversification”, the fundraising gala dinner raised a sum of N$490 000, which will be instrumental in the ensuring the success of the 2025 Eenhana Trade Expo which is scheduled to take place from July 24th to August 2nd, 2025.
In his end remarks, Ekandjo highlighted that “…platforms that unlock economic opportunities are facilitated and made possible by us [the people]. The contributions that we give as corporates or in our individual capacities are the pulse that maintains the heartbeat of the economic activities that are necessary for regional and national economic development goals. It is thus my wish that leadership in Eenhana and the country at large will maintain humility and humbly serve and lead the socio-economic empowerment of the people.”
