The need for economic stimulation and the importance of creating enabling platforms for business exhibitions has seen Mobile Telecommunications Ltd (MTC) extends its Corporate Social Responsibility hand to the region of ||Karas by committing an amount of N$115 000 towards the successful hosting of the popular Luderitz Cray Fish Festival.
Positioning the Town of Luderitz as a key contributor to the economic transformation of the region, the festival is a flagship business forum by the Luderitz Town Council that promotes and facilitates local business development initiatives and a perfect opportunity for macro and micro enterprises to market and sell their offerings, and exchange innovative business ideas.
MTC Corporate Affairs Manager, John Ekongo says that the festival is arguably one of the fastest growing in the country, and MTC is honored to be contributing to its growth. “We recognize the growth attained by Luderitz Crayfish Festival over the years and we are honored to be part of the journey that unlocks settings that drive business and entrepreneurship for a greater socio-economic welfare. We therefore thank the organizing committee for allowing us to sponsor and be part of the event once again. This is the 8th time in a row that we have partnered with the festival.”
Annually, the telco giant commits a total of N$875 000 in sponsorships to various trade shows across the country, permitting it to continue impacting the social and economic development initiatives positively.
Ekongo commended the leadership of Luderitz Town Council, while urging for innovative approach [es] that will continue to grow and keep the festival relevant on the calendar. “We have witnessed the transformative growth of the festival; and we expect the organisers to perpetually embrace innovation in order to keep attracting Namibians to the coastal town.”
The 2024 Crayfish Festival will take place from 29 April – 05 May 2024 at the Luderitz Waterfront.
