The long anticipated MTC Branding and Marketing Indaba has finally kicked off today in Windhoek, drawing over 300 delegates and at least 30 exhibitors. The premier three-days long (09-11 April 2025) event is Namibia’s first of its kind – offering valuable insights, impactful presentations, and panel discussions by renowned international and local experts on branding, marketing, communications, public relations, and advertising.
Additionally, the Indaba offers delegates a great opportunity to network, build strategic partnerships, while exchanging notes on how to build, enhance, and maintain great brands and reputation.
In his inaugural speech, MTC’s Chief Brand, Marketing, Communications & Sustainability Officer, Tim Ekandjo highlighted with emphasis the significance of branding and marketing indaba. “Arguably, branding is everything. As a country, corporates, and individuals, positioning ourselves in terms of how we are perceived and building a good reputation is indispensable, especially in a world where branding is everything. It is thus of outmost importance that we create a Namibian platform where we convene and share notes amongst ourselves on how to be great branding, marketing, communications, and advertising experts. Because it is through such that we package and tell a great story to the world about ourselves. Particularly in a world of fast trends and evolving technology.”
The first day of the indaba is dedicated to Branding – featuring presentations from great branding experts such as Dr. Thebe Ikalafeng – founder of Brand Africa, Musa Kalenga, a Technologist and Marketer-Brand Communicator, Sithembile Ntombela – General Manager for Marketing Brand South Africa and from Botsawa, Zontass Nameela, founder of Marketing Symposium and Association of Botswana, amongst others.
Second day will dive and dissect relevant topics re marketing, communications, and Public Relations, and the last day will investigate and discuss all things advertising – the trends and how to effectively leverage advertising. The event is packaged to allow delegates to draw value from diverse and relevant industry topics from a lineup of 17 speakers during the three-days of the indaba.
