The new Brazilian Ambassador to Namibia, Vivian Loss Sanmartin paid a courtesy call to Namport last Friday as a result of her roadmap focusing on maritime, agricultural and industrial cooperation between Namibia and Brazil.
The visit was also to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries and their ports as outlined in her credentials recently handed over to the Namibian Head of State.
The Namport CEO, Andrew Kanime welcomed the gesture by the Ambassador and shed light on the fruit reaped from all the hard work over the years by Namport in partnership with Walvis Bay Corridor Group and stakeholders in Brazil to develop business and trade opportunities between the two nations.
Kanime similarly reported to the Ambassador on the performance of the Port Authority over the past six months of the current financial year which have yielded great rewards with Namibia now importing bulk and break-bulk sugar from Brazil; not only for the Namibian market but the SADC region as well.
