RMB Namibia boosts Namibia’s first Bloomberg finance lab with computer equipment

RMB Namibia has sponsored computer equipment towards the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) ahead of its launch of Namibia’s first Bloomberg Finance Lab, in partnership with MTC and the Namibia Investment and Finance Academy (NIFA). This milestone marks a transformative step in advancing financial education, investment literacy, and market analytics training in Namibia.

The Bloomberg Finance Lab will help undergraduate and graduate students build the skills needed for a career in finance. Students will have access to e-learning certification courses, including the Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) course. Undergraduate and Master’s program students will also receive training on the use of the Bloomberg Terminal, and take courses on investment, risk and portfolio management. The lab will also be accessible to the university’s academic community to conduct research projects.

The establishment of the Bloomberg Finance Lab is a testament to the power of collaboration between academia, the private sector, and technology leaders in fostering innovation and industry-driven education. Ian Erlank, Head of Global Markets at RMB Namibia, said, “This sponsorship reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening financial market education and investment readiness in Namibia by ensuring students, professionals, and researchers have access to world-class financial tools and insights. It is part of how we are building a globally competitive Namibia”

As a leading corporate and investment bank, RMB Namibia is committed to fostering financial excellence by supporting initiatives that drive innovation, knowledge, and skills development in the financial sector. “We look forward to working closely to shape the next generation of financial professionals and furthering our shared vision for financial excellence,” Erlank concluded.
