Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) this week hosted its annual bursary handover ceremony, awarding six students pursuing studies in Accounting, Television Production, Data Science, Computer Science, and Law.
Valued at N$1.4 million, the bursary covers tuition fees, accommodation, transport, and pocket allowances for one year. Among the recipients, three are new intakes for 2025, while the remaining three are continuing beneficiaries from last year’s bursary program.
Newly appointed Chief Human Capital Officer, Raymond Cloete, who officiated the event, encouraged recipients to embrace a spirit of generosity and resilience. “Do not forget where you are coming from, invest in those who are less fortunate and continue this chain of giving. This bursary is not just about financial support; it is about instilling confidence in students, helping them believe in themselves even when faced with financial challenges. They need that self-belief to successfully navigate university. This is how we drive meaningful change and improve lives.”
Cloete further highlighted that upon completion of their studies, bursary recipients are enrolled in MTC’s Graduate Trainee Programme, with the potential for full-time employment depending on performance.
Melvin Rudolph, a former bursary recipient and current graduate trainee, expressed gratitude to MTC and encouraged the new recipients to make the most of the opportunity. “MTC ensures that you are taken care of during your studies and even after graduation. Not everyone is fortunate enough to secure employment immediately after university, so it is crucial to give your best in every assessment to excel in the graduate training programme.”
Supporting growth from within, MTC has also awarded bursaries to internal staff members, enabling them to further develop their careers.
