The Nopal Cactus Project is set to create employment opportunities while driving renewable energy production and entrepreneurship. Facilitated by NIPDB’s efforts to enhance the ease of doing business, this investment will focus on bioenergy production, mainly Base load peak electricity Renewable LNG.
This project is a game-changer for economic diversification, ensuring sustainability and new opportunities for Namibian entrepreneurs to take up opportunities in value-added products such as jams, syrups, sauces, salads, cactus seed oil and livestock fodder.
In a speech delivered on her behalf, Vice-President Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah said that “Namibia is open for business, and our investment climate reflects this commitment. With a stable democracy, sound governance, and strong legal frameworks, we continue to offer investors the security and predictability they seek. The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board’s (NIPDB) One Stop Centre was crucial in streamlining investor facilitation services ensuring that the NOPAL investors receive the necessary support to establish and expand their business seamlessly.
