In a deliberate pursuit to drive and achieve digital transformation, Namibia Water Corporation Ltd (NamWater) and digital enabler MTC, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) – a cooperative agreement that will see the two institutions work jointly to lead the envisaged Water Sector Digital Transformation.
The smart partnership is embarked upon with the ultimate purpose to enhance the systems and processes and bring efficacy in how the Water Corporation serves and bring more value to its stakeholders (customers).
In the agreement, the two entities will collaborate to transform the water sector through activities such as the rolling-out of Digital Payment channels, smart water metering infrastructure, data analytics and management, smart internet connectivity, and cloud Computing for efficient and cost-effective water management, among others. Furthermore, the partnership will see NamWater and MTC conduct research to co-create more digital solutions for the water sector.
At the MOU signing event, the leadership of the two entities officially subscribed to a strategic and smart collaboration, asserting that it is through such partnership that solutions to contemporary challenges in the water sector can be designed and seamlessly be implemented.
