The National Housing Enterprise (NHE) is poised to host its first-ever Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Windhoek on Friday, 27 September 2024.
The Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Erastus Uutoni, and his Finance counterpart, Iipumbu Shiimi, will grace the AGM and jointly receive the 2017–2023 Annual Report on behalf of the government, according to a recent notice from the housing entity. NHE Communication and Marketing Manager, Mutonga Matali, confirmed the development, highlighting that NHE’s compliance to requirements of the Public Enterprises Governance Act has improved to over 76% and that the hosting of the AGM is a significant milestone towards achieving a 100 percent compliance target.
“The AGM is arranged in strict adherence to the provisions of the NHE Act (No. 5 of 1993) and the Public Enterprises Governance Act (No. 1 of 2019), which dictate that the Enterprise must submit the annual report to the shareholder within six months after the end of each financial year,” Matali said. The key stakeholders in the housing fraternity have received notifications and invitations to attend the AGM, he added.
Last month, NHE announced the successful clearance of audited financials’ backlog for 2017–2023.
