Award winning start-up entrepreneur, Meke Namindo is redefining the art of business thinking through the N$tworthing initiative, a platform designed to accord entrepreneurs, innovators, dreamers, investors, students and other a chance to meet and greet every month to share ideas, market themselves and grow their network.
Namindo says networking is not about just connecting people. It’s about connecting people with people, people with ideas, and people with opportunities, and that is exactly what MEKENIFICENT’s expand your network is about.
“Thanks to Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), I was one of the start-ups that was accorded the opportunity of exposure. As an entrepreneur this type of exposure truly unlocked my already innovative mind. After, attending various meetings and organized meet and greets, I realised that as a country we truly have so much we have not explored when it comes to business, growth, innovation and investment,” says Namindo, who is the founder and CEO of MEKENIFICENT WELLNESS.
Explaining further as to why she is doing it, Namindo said that networking usually involves meeting new people, who share a profession, industry, or interests.
“Networking involves exchanging ideas and information between individuals. Unfortunately, many times these events are not only expensive, they are not known by some of the members of the community who can really stir things up.
“What’s more, they can be very intimidating for some members of our society and hence we miss out on potential innovative locals. Likewise, companies and other individuals with finances miss out on opportunities to invest potential big ideas and discover new talent from grass roots levels. MEKENIFICENT WELLNESS CENTRE is the best example for anyone who wishes to start off. We share real entrepreneurial experiences and motivation to avoid mistakes we already made. Here you are in a safe space, no judgement. It’s like speed dating but for business interests,” Namindo says.
MEKENIFICENT is an award winning start-up which started from scratch to now having high interest in innovation and skills development, as well as expanding networks.
“I’m using my platform for anyone, whether a street vendor or someone who is still unsure of what they want to do, or scared to start or have an idea already but wants to expand the network. The first event was on 15 March 2023 and we are so happy to announce that we successfully hosted the second event on 24 May 2023. Both times we attracted a good number of creatives.
