On 19 June, Nedbank Namibia honoured its long-serving employees at the bank’s bi-annual Long Service Award Ceremony held at the Nedbank Campus in Windhoek. This event celebrated the dedication and commitment of employees who have significantly contributed to the bank’s success over the years.
Long service recognition is crucial for several reasons. It helps to show appreciation and gratitude towards employees for their dedication, which in turn makes them feel valued and satisfied within their roles.
A total of 58 Nedbank employees received certificates of long service and prizes for their loyalty and continued service to the bank. The service categories included a newly introduced 3-year category, as well as 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years of service.
Speaking at the ceremony was Nedbank Namibia’s Executive for Human Capital, Bianca Muller, who emphasised the importance of recognising long-serving employees:
‘Recognition is a key element of employee engagement. It is more than just a pat on the back; it’s a powerful tool that fosters a positive work environment, boosts morale, and enhances productivity. When we acknowledge our team members, even for their loyalty, we not only validate their efforts but also inspire them to continue striving for excellence. Recognition helps build a sense of belonging and loyalty, which is essential for retaining top talent and maintaining a motivated workforce.’
Muller added:
‘Today, we gather not merely to mark the passage of time, but to celebrate the enduring spirit of commitment, partnership, and shared purpose – and this shared purpose is our Nedbank purpose of using our financial expertise to do good.’
The next Nedbank Long Service Award Ceremony will take place in December 2025.
