Welwitchia University (Pty) Ltd has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Goethe-Institut Namibia to introduce German as a Foreign Language courses for its students. This strategic collaboration aims to provide high-quality German language education, enhancing students’ career opportunities and cultural competencies.
Under this partnership, Goethe-Institut will offer internationally recognized German language courses aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The program will cover proficiency levels A1, A2, B1, and B2, equipping students with essential language skills in a structured and engaging environment.
Program Highlights:
- Each course level will run for six (6) months and will be delivered through face-to-face teaching at Welwitchia University’s premises.
- Class sizes will be limited to a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 18 participants, ensuring personalized attention.
- Goethe-Institut will provide highly qualified teaching staff, CEFR-aligned study materials, and free membership to the Goethe-Institut library, offering students access to books, media, and online learning resources.
- Mock examinations will be conducted as part of continuous assessments, preparing students for official Goethe-Zertifikat B2 examinations, which are internationally recognized for academic and professional purposes.
- Students who pass the Goethe-Zertifikat B2 exam will receive an official certificate from Goethe-Institut, enhancing their global career prospects.
Commitments of Both Parties: Goethe-Institut will be responsible for employing qualified instructors, providing study materials, conducting assessments, and issuing official certificates. Welwitchia University, in turn, will provide adequate classroom facilities, promote the program among students, and facilitate administrative support for student registration and coordination.
Duration of the Agreement: The MoU is set for an initial period of two (2) years, with automatic renewal for successive one-year periods unless either party provides written notice of termination.
