Alpha Petroleum (Pty) Ltd. has strongly refuted as “false and misleading” claims recently published by multiple publications which allege that the company has engaged Alpha Energy Nigeria and their representative to initiate offshore diamond mining operations under contract with NAMDEB.
Last week, multiple publications across Africa ran a story stating that Alpha Energy had secured diamond mining contract in Namibia worth N$3.4 billion. In the article Dr. Babajide Agunbiade, Founder and CEO of Alpha Energy Resources, expressed pride in winning the competitive bid.
“We wish to clarify that, while Alpha Petroleum is indeed in a contractual partnership with NAMDEB, Alpha Energy Nigeria is not involved in our operations, and the company referenced in the articles is not affiliated with Alpha Petroleum in any capacity.
“These articles contain significant inaccuracies and misrepresentations, which are both damaging and completely unfounded. It is also important to note that neither of the media houses that released these articles have attempted to reach out to Alpha Petroleum for comment or verification of these claims prior to publication,” the company said in a statement.
The statement goes on to say: “In response to these false claims, Alpha Petroleum has initiated legal proceedings to protect our reputation and interests. We respectfully request that media organizations refrain from perpetuating unverified and baseless allegations. We also urge the public to allow the legal process to take its course and not be swayed by sensationalist reporting.”
Conclusively, Alpha Petroleum says it remains fully committed to the responsible execution of its contractual obligations with NAMDEB, and continue to uphold the highest standards of transparency, professionalism, and ethical business practices.
