Rossing Foundation ploughs nearly N$800 000 into education

Under its flagship project, ‘Learning Enhanced, Learning Accessed’ (LELA), the Rössing Foundation has donated 670 textbooks to Eddie Bowe Primary School in Khorixas, Kunene region, and 1,415 textbooks and a variety of learning tools to Oshela Senior Secondary School in Okongo, Ohangwena region, on Friday 26th 2024. This week, 2,080 textbooks and some other learning resources were donated to Shaanika Nashilongo Secondary School at Okahao in Omusati region.

The combined donation value is N$782,908.

In collaboration with the government and partners, the LELA project aims to ensure that at least 15 000 learners have definite access to prescribed science textbooks and tools for improved learning experiences and performance in schools.

Through the LELA project, the Foundation targets to influence science-based education that cultivates critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of the world around us. The first phase of LELA project will donate 12,239 textbooks valued at N$2.4 million for 18 schools in 12 regions.

The LELA project continues to expand its reach, ensuring sustained access to educational resources for our future generations.
