Liquor licence warning

Renew and pay fees or face termination- MIT

The Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade (MIT) has warned liquor license owners that all relevant liquor licences must be renewed and license fees paid on or before 31 March 2022 as per Section 21 and 22 of the liquor license Act, `1998.

Failure to do this, the ministry said, will render the relevant licenses terminated and new licences to be applied for in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

All applications for renewals must be lodged with the magistrate for the district in which the licenced premises or the premises, in respect of which an application in terms of this Act is made, are situated.

“This ministry wishes therefore to inform all liquor licence holders and all relevant stakeholders that the ministry has not issued any suspension of any provisions of the liquor Act and or any related regulations under any sections of the Act insofar as they relate to the extension of renewal of liquor licences and or any reduction or waiver of prescribed licence fees of any kind of liquor licences,” Sikongo Haihambo, Executive Director in the ministry said.
