Standard Bank Namibia appoints Ernest Hamukwaya as Head of Risk Governance and Reporting

Standard Bank Namibia has announced the appointment of Ernest Hamukwaya as Head of Risk Governance and Reporting, effective March 2026.

Hamukwaya is a qualified Chartered Accountant with more than eight years of experience across diverse industries, including mining, insurance, retail, and banking.

He brings a wealth of leadership experience, having held several senior roles, most recently serving as Head of Finance and Governance at FirstRand Namibia. His career also includes significant international exposure through Deloitte in both the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. In London, Hamukwaya served as an Advisory Manager within the CFO Office, while in the Netherlands he worked as an Audit Manager, leading multidisciplinary teams, driving strategic initiatives, and delivering complex engagements across a range of sectors.

In his current role at Standard Bank Namibia, Hamukwaya is responsible for credit portfolio reporting and oversight, strengthening governance frameworks and risk management processes, and shaping and executing the bank’s credit risk management strategy. He also provides oversight of all risk reporting, both internal and external, including regulatory reporting requirements.

Hamukwaya brings extensive expertise in leadership development, risk governance, and financial management. His combination of strategic leadership, international experience, and technical proficiency positions him to drive robust governance practices and support effective risk management across the organisation.
