Namibia to present prime mining investment opportunities at prestigious 2026 Mining Indaba

Namibia is set to position itself as a premier destination for mining investment at the upcoming Investing in African Mining Indaba, highlighting its wealth of critical minerals and stable, investor-friendly environment.

The Namibian delegation, led by the Deputy Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, Gaudentia Krohne, will showcase the country’s resource-rich landscape, which boasts significant deposits of uranium, diamonds, lithium, rare earth elements, copper, graphite, cobalt, manganese, and zinc. The mining sector, a cornerstone of the national economy, is central to driving economic growth, creating employment, and fostering industrial development.

Aligned with its long-term mining and industrialisation strategy, Namibia is promoting an integrated pipeline for sustainable growth that includes both large-scale investments and small-scale and emerging mining operations. The government is actively seeking investors and development partners to advance exploration, beneficiation, and downstream value addition, supported by a predictable policy framework and a business environment trusted by major multinational companies.

During the Indaba, the delegation will engage potential investors, financiers, and technical partners to explore public-private partnerships across the mining value chain. The aim is to mobilise capital and expertise, advance investable opportunities, and support the formalisation and de-risking of emerging projects that meet global market demand.

Two key events have been scheduled to present Namibia’s value proposition. The first is a Mining Project Investment Pitching Session, hosted in partnership with Rand Merchant Bank (RMB), which will offer selected, vetted projects direct access to potential investors and strategic partners.

The second is the official Namibia Country Showcase, forming part of the main Indaba programme. This session will be led by Deputy Minister Krohne, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Industries, Mines and Energy, the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board, and the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR). The showcase will focus on Namibia’s investment landscape, regulatory framework, value-addition strategy, licensing certainty, geological potential, and infrastructure readiness.

The Namibia Country Showcase is scheduled for Wednesday, 11 February 2026, from 15h00 to 16h30 at the Victoria Falls Stage, CTICC 2, Level 2.
