Standard Bank Namibia has announced the appointment of Hellen Amupolo as the new Head of Business & Commercial Banking, effective 20 June 2025.
With over 17 years of experience in development finance, structured finance, and enterprise banking, Hellen brings a wealth of expertise to Standard Bank Namibia. Her distinguished career includes serving as Chief Investment Officer at the Development Bank of Namibia, where she spearheaded credit origination, portfolio management, and strategic initiatives. Hellen has made significant contributions to Namibia’s growth, notably structuring financing for the country’s first wind farm and pioneering innovative land delivery models for local authorities.
Hellen holds a Bachelor’s in Economics, an MBA in Finance, and a Master’s in Development Finance. She has further honed her leadership skills through prestigious programs, including the Executive Leadership Development Program at Stellenbosch and Impact Investing in Africa at the University of Cape Town. As a member of the Chartered Institute of Development Finance and a seasoned board member across public and private sectors, Hellen is deeply committed to driving impactful and sustainable development.
